<p>Looking for sales is one way to maintain a healthy diet. Seasonal food items like avocados, fresh fruit and veggies, and fish are often on sale during specific times throughout the year, meaning that they can be purchased for<span id="more-9"></span> less than the usual cost. As the seasons change, the prices will too, but this allows for a rotating variety of foods to be consumed throughout the year that will not break the bank. </p>
<p>For those foods that do not go on sale, working them into the current budget can also be a good way to ensure that they are consumed. Cutting back on different parts of the budget (shopping, vacationing, luxuries, etc) will allow for more health food purchases and may even help in the long run. </p>
<p>Researching the food that will be consumed is important as well. Though packaged foods tend to be less &#8220;healthy&#8221; than fresh ones, in many cases there are prepackaged options that can be healthier than others. Knowing exactly what is in the product will help people stick to a balanced and healthy diet. </p>

Parents can help to get rid of obesity in their children by taking an active role in their health and entertainment.  Parents should set guidelines on the amount of time that children are allowed to play video games or watch television.  Provide the children with family adventures to involve parents and children.</p>

Hikes or long trail walks will get the heart pumping and help children to burn more calories.  When going for long walks with your children, make sure they take a bottle of water to drink.  Water is great for helping burn calories and flushing impurities from the body.  </p>
<p>Another way to prevent childhood obesity is by providing the children with healthy snack alternatives.  Fruits and fresh vegetables are great but sometimes are not what the child is craving.  Provide the child with alternatives to those unhealthy potato chips or candy by cooking healthy baked potato crisps, or sugary snacks using sugar substitutes.  Make sure the sugar substitutes are low in sugar alcohol or saccharin.  Providing healthy snacks that they children like will help him or her eats better and lose excess weight.</p>
